Recently, I was interviewed by the great Rob Neyer for his podcast “SABRcast.” During the show we talk about everything from how I create my art and favorite baseball team to color blindness and antique tube radios!.
For those not familiar with SABR, that stands for the Society for American Baseball Research. I’m not a “joiner” at all, but this is one organization that I’ve always found to be completely worth it. Besides the great friends you’ll meet through the group, the multitude of free publications you receive each year is worth the dues alone.
More recently, SABR has its own weekly podcast hosted by Rob Neyer. As his official bio says: Rob is a longtime baseball writer and editor for ESPN.com, SB Nation, and FoxSports.com. He began his career as a research assistant for groundbreaking baseball author Bill James and later worked for STATS, Inc. He has also written or co-written seven baseball books, including The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers (with Bill James), winner of the Sporting News/SABR Baseball Research Award, and most recently Power Ball: Anatomy of a Modern Baseball Game, winner of the 2019 CASEY Award.
I’ve long been a fan of Rob’s books, so the chance to talk baseball with a legend like him was something I was very eager and happy to do – and I think you can hear that in our discussion. Click below hear the podcast:
